About EF

EF Education First (or just EF) is an international education company that specializes in language training, educational travel, programs for academic degree and cultural exchange. It was founded in 1965 and it has approximately 37,000 staff and 500 offices and schools located in more than 50 countries.

If you want to travel with EF there are many opportunities, for example:

• Learning a language abroad. You can choose between 7 languages and 44 destinations.
• An academic year abroad, where you combine a language course with academic subjects.
• An international private secondary school.
• And of course, the High School Exchange Year I'm going to do!

Now some more information about the High School Exchange Year. There are three destinations you can choose between: the USA, Great - Britain and Ireland. There you'll live with an host family and go to a local school for a year or a semester. EF has offices in all the host countries, so you don't have to rely on another organization when you're abroad. You'll learn much about the culture and experience the life of a British, Irish or American teenager. It also includes 4 welcome days in New York, London or Dublin. There you'll get some basic information about the coming year and you can meet new people who are doing the same thing as you! Or you can go to a 10-14 days long camp, with language and culture lessons and fun activities.
